Central Library

Holding more than 40,000 books, the Central Library of the University is a vital resource for the support of both teaching and research. Nearly 1100 current journals and periodicals, together with extensive back files, provide comprehensive holdings in all major fields. These are enriched by numerous special collections, including a large group of technical reports.

All the services offered by a fine research library are available: reference and information, library loan, and photocopies. ON-line computer search is also available at the faculties of Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, and the Institute of Graduate Studies & Research at a very modest fee. This service is complemented by those of the British Council and the American Cultural Center Libraries in Alexandria.

In addition to the central library, each faculty maintains its own library, comprising a special collection of books and periodicalls, suited to its specific fields of study.

The University libraries serve staff members, postgraduate and undergraduate students and researchers.
